We seek to hire a legal counsel of commercial legal who will be a key member of the growing legal team supporting AliExpress in global emerging markets. The attorney will be based in our Hangzhou office. Job Description 1. Reporting to Legal Counsel, AliExpress, advise on legal aspects of the platform’s international growth of current and new e-commerce businesses, with a focus on global emerging markets. 2. Provide advice on platform compliance, local and cross border logistics, customs and tariffs, personal data, product listing and other compliance matters. 3. Research local laws and regulations in the local jurisdictions and manage external counsel. 4. Provide advice to business teams on legal aspects of the implementation of commercial agreements, business models and strategies, business operations, supply chain operations and product offerings. 5. Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, commercial agreements and policies. 6. Address and respond to requests from overseas law enforcement agencies. 7. Develop in-house legal tools and policies, and conduct trainings to business units. 【任职要求】 1. At least 5 continuous years of practice as a qualified lawyer. Current legal license (bar qualification) to practice in China and/or the US, England and Wales or Hong Kong; 2. In-house legal experience at a leading e-commerce platform or multinational corporation preferred, with a solid understanding of e-commerce business models and key compliance challenges, and/or cross-border trade transactions (such as import/export, logistics, payments, financing, etc.); 3. Direct experience handling regulatory investigations, inquiries, or enforcement proceedings initiated by overseas authorities preferred; 4. Chinese and English language proficiency is essential; 5. Highly responsible, independent, high integrity and team-oriented, with sound judgment and a proactive approach to risk management; 6. Ability to work with different locations across time-zones; 7. Sincere interest in technology, innovation and business. Strong commercial sense with solid foundation in legal training; 8. Open to international travel as may be necessary.
