Technical Writer

Key Responsibilities 1. Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) from Engineering and TPS teams to develop high-quality English product manuals that align with company documentation standards and user needs; ensure clarity, accuracy, and completeness of technical content. 2. Manage the documentation review cycle: proactively solicit feedback, incorporate revisions, and drive content quality improvement. 3. Maintain and update existing manuals based on R&D input to ensure all documentation remains current with product updates. 4. Deliver system manual packages in accordance with the production schedule; ensure on-time release and version control. 5. Review and provide constructive feedback on content created by peers to ensure quality and consistency across the team. 6. Proactively research and propose innovative tools or workflow enhancements to optimize documentation processes and outputs. 7. Contribute to the design and maintenance of the AMEC Information Center website, including content strategy, site structure, and usability. Key Requirements 1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Communications, Technical English, Engineering, or a related field. 2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with meticulous attention to clarity, grammar, and technical accuracy. 3. Proficiency in structured authoring tools, such as Oxygen XML Editor, Arbortext Editor, or Adobe FrameMaker. 4. Hands-on experience with DITA authoring and proficiency in applying profiling/conditional publishing techniques to address audience-specific needs. 5. Solid understanding of information architecture (IA) principles, including topic-based authoring, modular content reuse, and taxonomy design. 6. Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) to manage documentation workflows, content versioning, and reuse strategy. 7. Familiarity with CSS styling for structured content presentation, and the ability to collaborate with developers to align visual outputs with branding or UX requirements is a plus. 8. Understanding of user experience (UX), user-centered design, and visual communication principles is a plus. 9. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, user-friendly documentation. 10. Aminimum of 5 years of experience in a technical writing or a relevant field, ideally in a high-tech or engineering-driven industry.
