Export Control Specialist

Key Responsibilities: Envision, create, and maintain an internal cross-function process/system for item classification under China/U.S. export control laws and regulations. Monitor, analyze and report into the Compliance Team the China/U.S. export control laws, regulations and policy changes as they develop, and update the company's compliance process/system in a timely manner. Other export control and compliance-related tasks as assigned by supervisor. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree and above, emphasis on International Trade or some aspect of Legal Studies preferred. Work Experience: Minimum 1-year of experience in export control, compliance or Customs affairs. Prior experience in semiconductor field is preferred. Solid grounding in various global export control laws and regulations, including but not limited to PRC, U.S, EU. Understanding of and capability to analyze and apply ECCN/HS code classification systems. Technical Competence: Competent in the use of computer software programs applicable to the management of export control data; ability to learn with reasonable quickness the systems deployed by AMEC, whether commercially available programs or programs developed in-house. Desired Skills: Strong communicator, congenial team interaction, and ability to collaborate with the various AMEC departments that rely on the company’s export control expertise to pursue business objectives. Ability to develop an initial interpretation of the export control laws and regulations, as they emerge, and apply such to practical operations (never required to formulate actual Legal opinions). Fluent in English language, both written and oral, CET-6 and above. Detail oriented.
